It was a long summer afternoon. Aunt Polly was looking for Tom.

Aunt Polly:
Tom! Tom! Where are you?

Narrator（旁白）:
Tom was in the closet. He was eating jam. Aunt Polly was angry.

Aunt Polly:
"Look at your mouth! I will punish you!"

Tom:
"Look behind you, Aunt!"

Narrator（旁白）:
Tom ran away quickly. He did not go to school. He went swimming in the river.

Aunt Polly:
"Tom, was it warm in school?"

Tom:
"Yes, Aunt Polly."

Sid:
"Aunt Polly, look! The thread on Tom’s collar is black. But you used white thread this morning."

Narrator（旁白）:
Tom was angry with Sid. Later, Tom met a new boy in the street. The boy was wearing a blue coat and new shoes.

Tom:
"I am stronger than you! I can lick（揍、打赢）you!"

Narrator（旁白）:
They had a fight. Tom was the winner. But when he went home, Aunt Polly was waiting for him. She was not happy.
